I have known Alex who owns Ty Croeso for quite a while and when she asked me if I would like to stay the night before I was Keynote Speaker at the Brecon Beacons Tourism Conference I jumped at the chance.
Normally when guests arrives Alex lays on a delicious cake but she knows I have embraced a sugar free life so didn't shudder when I said "just hot water please". We caught up and had a natter in the guest lounge which is bright and airy, with an honesty bar, plenty of cosy sofas and plenty of magazines and local information to read. Alex then showed me to my suite which is even better in real life. I kid you not I was mentally updating my Instagram feed at all the amazing quirky touches.
The accommodation has everything - a really comfortable bed, a sitting room area, a study area, a fabulous shower room and a standalone bath, plenty of storage - all tastefully decorated, with gorgeous views in a quiet location. I was in my element.
As I am familiar with the local area I nipped to The Star in Talybont for a quick drink before heading to The Dragon in Crickhowell for a steak before heading back to Ty Croeso for a bath and the promise of a good night's sleep.
I wasn't disappointed, I woke up feeling calm and refreshed after a fabulous night's sleep (always happens in Wales) ready for the day ahead. Obviously I needed to try the shower out as well and can confirm that it's a great shower, with good pressure - very important.
Breakfast was a very calm experience, Alex took my food request the evening before and I have to say I have never seen a more perfect poached egg. Alex told me she has a competition for the best poaches eggs, she would win hands down in a poach off with me.
Alex is also a Brecon Beacons National Park Ambassador, has heaps of local knowledge and can point you in the direction of all that the beautiful area has to offer.
For more information or to book your stay take a look at the Ty Croeso website.
Thank you to Alex for the kind invitation to stay in return for a review, everything was perfect x
